| Title: Analyzing The Difference Between The Supply Chains Optimization Of Poultry Firm Using Linear Fractional Program And Mixed Intege Author: Ahmed Guta (Ph.D) & Yuani J. (Ph.D) Abstract: In this study, we formulate mixed integer and lin In this study, we formulate mixed integer and linear fractional program for manufacturer and retailer system of poultry firm in Bangladesh that is one of the most promising but unstable sectors in Bangladesh. This paper maximizes the profit, minimizes the cost and finally estimates the optimum selling prices of several the firms. In order to validate the model we have made a question survey on some main poultry firms in the district of Mymensingh and Gazipur of Dhaka. We try to figure out the actual situation of the unstable poultry market of Bangladesh. We have made a question survey on some poultry firm. From the survey, it has observed that the selling price of eggs and chicken fluctuate depending on the natural calamities. The formulated mixed integer linear fractional program model maximizes not only the ratio of return on investment but also optimize location, transportation cost, and the investment. In order to comparison, a mixed integer model has been derived for the same constraints. The formulated mixed integer and linear fractional program has solved by branch and bound algorithm-using AMPL. These models determine the sites for manufacturer and the best allocation for both the retailer and manufacturer. It has observed that the profit and selling price have very good relationship with production cost and raw materials cost but no significant relation with fixed cost. This leads to the case where the manufacturer has access to the complete information set that is required to coordinate the supply chain, and, although each buyer has access to the manufacturer’s production rate, setup and holding cost information, individual buyers do not have access to the manufacturer’s information set that contains information on other buyers. | Title: A Critical Look At The Application Of Ventilator-associated Pneumonia Preventive Bundle In Pediatric Intensive Care Unit Author: Kakil Uzax (Ph.D) Abstract: Pneumonia associated with mechanical ventilation Pneumonia associated with mechanical ventilation (VAP) is one of the important causes of nosocomial infections in pediatric intensive care units (PICU). VAP is the leading cause of morbidity and mortality in PICUs. Aim: To assess the compliance to ventilator bundle components: elevation of the head of bed >30, sedation interruption, spontaneous breathing trial, peptic ulcer prophylaxis and its effect on the prevention of VAP. Subjects and Methods: A case control study at PICU of Abo EL Reish El Moneira Hospital, including all mechanically ventilated patients admitted over a period of one year. The study tested the effect of implementation of this bundle as regard the rate of VAP in both group, compliance to bundle and most affecting component of it. Results: There was decrease incidence of VAP after implementation of the bundle, from (50%) to (14%). Two purposes, research questions and hypotheses guided the study. A descriptive survey research design was adopted for the study. The study was carried out in Rivers State. The population of this study consists of 304 students and 42 teaching staff given a total of 346 respondents. Consensus sampling technique was use based on the fact that the manageable size of the population. The study adopted a questionnaire titled star delta starter system skills questionnaire (SDSSQ). The instrument was structured on a 5- point Likert scale response of Strongly Agree (SA)=5, Agree (A)=4, Undecided (U)=3, Disagree (D)=2 and Strongly Disagree (SD)=1 respectively. The instrument was face-validated by three experts and a reliability coefficients of 0.80 using Cronbach Alpha reliability. Findings of the study indicates that the respondents agreed on the star-delta installation skills needs for employment of electrical electronics graduates in Polytechnics in Rivers State. Findings of the study indicate that the respondents agreed on the constraints in acquiring Star Delta Starter System Skills for Employment of Electrical Electronics Graduates in Polytechnics in Rivers State. Based on the findings and conclusion of the study, the following recommendations were suggested: National board for technical education should mandate the training of competent lecturers to teach star- delta installation skills as it would enable the employment of electrical electronics graduates in the industries. Polytechnic management should engage the collaboration of industries in the applications of star delta starter skills to enhance the employment of electrical electronics graduates.
