Title: Impacts of Administrative Bureaucracy on Quality Service Delivery of Academic Staff in Rivers State Owned Universities Author: Bara, Imaobong Ignatius (Ph.D) & Return Harvest Wokeh (Ph.D) Abstract: ... This study examines the impacts of administrative bureaucracy on the quality service delivery of academic staff in Rivers State-owned universities, with specific focus on three critical dimensions: students’ result appropriation, staff workloads management, and technological integration into instruction. Administrative bureaucracy, while intended to ensure accountability and structure, often introduces delays, inefficiencies, and rigidity that hinder the performance of academic staff. The study adopted a descriptive survey design with a population of 1,005 academic staff drawn from Ignatius Ajuru University of Education (IAUE) and Rivers State University (RSU). Using Taro Yamane’s formula, a sample of 286 respondents was proportionately selected and surveyed using a validated questionnaire titled QIABQSDAS. Data were analyzed using mean, standard deviation, and independent t-test at 0.05 level of significance. Findings revealed that administrative bureaucracy highly impacts academic staff performance across the three dimensions studied. Specifically, staff perceived bureaucracy to significantly delay result processing, complicate workload allocation, and impede integration of technology into instruction. However, the t-test results showed no statistically significant differences in the perceptions of academic staff between IAUE and RSU, indicating that the challenges are systemic across the state-owned universities. The study concludes that excessive bureaucratic procedures undermine academic efficiency and calls for institutional reforms aimed at simplifying administrative processes, enhancing autonomy, and promoting digitalization of academic services. Key recommendations include streamlining of bureaucratic procedures, decentralization of workload management, and increased use of digital platforms to support academic operations. These reforms are essential for enhancing academic service delivery and promoting excellence in Rivers State owned universities. Title: Technical and Fundamental Analysis Review Paper Author: Ghavi Hundui (Ph.D) Abstract: ... This is a humble attempt to conduct literature review on Fundamental and Technical Analysis. Fundamental analysis is used in stock selection for equity portfolio management. To find out the intrinsic value on the basis of fundamentals and compares value with the current market price to determine if the security is underpriced or overpriced fundamental analysis is done. Technical analysis, which comes in the form of different charts so also known as “charting,” has been a part of financial studies for many decades. Initially Technical analysis has not received the same level of acceptance as fundamental analysis. One of the greatest challenge between academic finance and industry practice is the separation that exists between technical analysts and their academic critics. Investors would like to categorize the stocks into value and growth. Value investors invest for the stocks that are trading at less than their apparent worth, but on the other hand growth investors focus on the future potential of the firm and buy companies that are trading higher than their current intrinsic worth with the belief that the companies’ intrinsic worth will grow and go beyond their current valuation. Title: Economic Performance Response, Credit Disbursement and Monetary Policy Shocks in Nigeria Author: Professor Lezansi L. Torbira & Deebii Nwiado (Ph.D) Abstract: ... This study investigates the nature and magnitude of the influence of credit disbursed by financial institutions on income per head within the monetary policy environment in Nigeria and especially how the income per head response to the dynamic impact of the credit to the private sector and monetary policy shocks. The correlates were modeled using the non-linear dynamic stochastic general equilibrium (DSGE) framework. We obtained the estimation by conducting dynamic tests on annual time series Nigerian data over the period 1970 to 2018. The results reveal that there exists positive relationship between credit to the private sector and per capita income in Nigeria and that the current income per head of Nigerians exhibit positive influence on future income per head. Also, shocks from inflation have negative impact on credit to the private sector. The impact of monetary policy shocks suggests that shocks from credit to the private sector and interest rate spread influence per capital income positively. The results reported that the shocks from credit to the private sector and interest rate spread induce inflation to increase, while shocks from credit to the private sector exert indirect impact on per capita income. The shocks from interest rate spread assert positive and significant impact on per capita income in Nigeria. The impulse response and variance decomposition of these state variables on the control variables suggest that, any unit change in the shocks from state variables reduces per capital income only for a short time and a unit shock from the state variable induces an increasing short-lived impact on credit to the private sector. Shock from state variable g yields temporal increase the capita per head. We recommend that reducing inflation rate in the monetary policy channel should be the major policy focus of the monetary authorities in Nigeria.
