Title: Kenya’s Teachers Behavior and Strategic Plan Author: Zumahi Kela & Karic Zefa Abstract: ... The relationship between the strategic plan’s objectives and employee’s behavior was conceptualized generally as depicted in Figure 1. A relationship exists where the causal factor that is, the strategic plan objectives affect the teachers’ behavior. There are several moderating factors that may affect the employees’ behavior, some of which are internal and external to the individual and to the organization. However, this study did not consider the effect of the intervening variables also called confounding variable. This study assumed that these factors remained constant during the period of the study. The independent variable were generic strategic plan’s objectives as depicted in the conceptual framework; the dependent variable considered were, the teachers behavior expressed through work practices such as continuous evaluation of performance with aim of improving, values ,beliefs held and practiced, team-working by collaborating and coordinating, adoption and use of ICT technology as well as communication mechanisms used. Title: Organizational Commitment and Turnover Intention in the Hospital Nurses and Influence of Perceived Organizational Justice on Empowerment Author: Kong Sunyon Abstract: ... The purpose of the study is to investigate the influence of perceived organizational justice on empowerment, organizational commitment and turnover intention in the hospital nurses in Korea. Methods/Statistical Analysis: A self-reported questionnaire was completed by three hundred hospital nurses in general hospital after hearing the purpose of the study. The instruments of the questionnaire consisted of organizational justice, empowerment, organizational commitment, and turnover intention measured by a five point Likert scale. The data were analyzed using SPSS version 22.0 and AMOS 21.0 program. Technical statistics, Pearson’s correlation coefficients, Cronbach’s alpha, and EFA were done. Findings: The path model was analyzed to evaluate the hypothesis and overall fit measures. The model’s overall fit measures were Χ2 = 122.765, d.f. = 23, p = .000, GFI = .914, AGFI = .832, RMR = .031, NFI = .872, IFI = .893, CFI = .892. Model evaluation measure of overall fit is desirable when GFI, CFI, NFI, and IFI are above .9, AGFI above .8, and RMR below .05. While NFI, IFI, and CFI values in this study were somewhat lower, because RMR, GFI, and AGFI values were high, it was deemed acceptable without a revised model. Organizational justice had a positive direct effect on empowerment (r = .446, p = .004) and organizational commitment (r = .608, p = .004) and a negative direct effect on turnover intention (r = -.357, p = .004). Empowerment had a notable direct effect on organizational commitment (r = .213, p = .007), but no notable direct effect onturnover intention (r = .097, p = .155). Organizational commitment had a negative effect on turnover intention (r = -.381, p = .004). Organizational justice had an indirect effect on organizational commitment and turnover intention. Empowerment, too, had an indirect effect on turnover intention. Organizational justice, followed by organizational commitment, had the most overall effect on turnover intention, and both were negative effects. The coefficient of determination (R2), which explains external and internal variables, was examined. The value of R2 for empowerment was .199 (19.9%), organizational commitment’s R2 was .530 (53%), and turnover intention’s R2 was .407 (40.7%). This study shows that, as the nurses’ perception of organizational justice becomes greater, empowerment and organizational commitment are heightened while turnover intention goes down. Improvements: Therefore, for effective hospital human resources management, nursing organizations and hospital organizations must change the design and system of the organization so that the nurses’ perception of organizational justice will become greater. Keywords: Empowerment, Nurses, Organizational Commitment, Organizational Justice, Turnover Intention. Show More |

Title: An Assessment of The Practice of Thrift Collection among Southwest Nigerian Business Women under Islamic Law of Contract Author: Assayouti Ismail Oseni; Adenigba, Sikirullahi Atanda (PhD) & Musa Musibau Adekunle (PhD) Abstract: ... Money is an issue that has been explicitly and implicitly discussed in the Quran and Sunnah. It is a basic necessity for the survival of any business. Within the Islamic worldview, money or wealth belongs to Allah and it is the duty of man to dispense it according to His will. The monetary activities of man can only be controlled by means of legitimate contracts so as to justify acquisition of wealth and establish economic principles that protect the rights of individuals and guarantee fair and just financial transactions, social equality and curb monopoly. This article studies the forms, manners and modus-operandi of the informal financial practice of thrift collections (Ajo) among business women in the South-western Nigeria. Hence, it assesses the practice within the framework of Islamic law of contract, focusing on the rules guiding the concepts of Wadia’h (keeping deposit) and Qard Hasan (loan). The research adopted a qualitative approach for data analysis. Primary data was generated mainly through administration of oral interviews. Of one hundred women that were randomly sampled, fifty market women were members of daily thrift schemes with different mobile bankers or thrift vendors and the remaining fifty were members of different periodic thrift clubs who come together to contribute a certain amount of money to be given rotationally to club members at the end of every month. Investigations revealed that, while some forms of the monetary scheme are Shariah compliant, majority of them are questionable. There is, thus, the need for proper study of the Islamic juristic views regarding the practice of thrift collection (Ajo) among Yoruba women so as to guide against the severity of the war declared by Allah against those who devour usury. Keywords: Thrift Collection; Wadia’h (keeping deposit); Qard Hasan (benevolent loan); Thrift Vendor (mobile banker); Yoruba Women. Show More |

Title: An Analysis of Sports Personnel Recruitment Strategies in Waseda Author: Feyijoch Habimai Abstract: ... In the present study, a cross-sectional self-administrated questionnaire survey was conducted among teachers to examine SPORTS PERSONEL RECRUITMENT STRATEGIES IN WASEDA. The differences in perceptions between teachers in junior high and high schools were also evaluated. The mainly reported expected qualifications of external coaches by teachers were as follows: “humanity” (e.g., appropriate “character,” “abidance by rules,” and “educational thinking”), “ability” (especially having coaching credentials and experience, and technical coaching skills and knowledge), “cooperativeness” (“communication skill” and “support of SBECSA teachers”), and “trust.” Recently, there has been growing concern about physical punishment in Japanese schools. Accordingly, MEXT (2013) has produced a guideline toward preventing such punishment. With this context, many participants in the present study may have been particularly conscious of the need to abide by rules. Flintoff et al. (2011) stressed the importance of coaching with educational thinking, especially in elementary schools. The results of the present study indicate that educational thinking is also a strong requirement for external coaches in junior high and high schools. Therefore, educational thinking could be considered an essential qualification for external coaches in all school stages. Show More |

Title: Socio-Economic Sustainable Development in Java and its Impact of Agro-Forest Cultivation Author: Rimun Soderi Abstract: ... This study aims to identify the practice of enrichment planting which is developed in agroforestry management and to devise the schemes to increase more prospective enrichment planting. The research was conducted in GunungKidul, Java, Indonesia which includes three zones namely the BaturAgung (Nglanggeran Village), LedokWonosari (Gari Village) and GunungSeribu (Jetis Village). Data sampling method is done by purposive random sampling way. In each village it is selected 30 units of agroforestry land consisting of 10 initial agroforestries, 10 intermediate agroforestries and 10 advanced agroforestries. Analysis includes site conditions, microclimate, evolving patterns of agroforestry and traditional silvicultural practices. The result shows that the practice of enrichment planting traditionally is still limited to the consideration of the tree numbers increase in agroforestry systems. Furthermore enrichment planting has not been followed by intensive silvicultural actions. Based on these considerations it is necessary to make innovation to increase the agroforestry productivity (BaturAgung Zone) with intensive silviculture that synergizes enrichment planting with pruning, commercial thinning and tebangbutuhthrough the schemes: 1) Agroforestry for food, 2) Agroforestry transition from food-based initial agroforestry to advanced agroforestry and 3) Acceleration of initial agroforestry to advanced agroforestry. As for LedokWonosari and GunungSeribu Zone through the schemes: 1) Acceleration of initial agroforestry to full teak advanced agroforestry and 2) The transition from initial to advanced agroforestry with enrichment. With the scheme of this traditional silviculture technology can enhance the role of agroforestry as a last resort of forest management outside the forest. Title: Deconstructing Constructive Empiricism’s Radical Dissent to The Ontological Status of Unobservable Entities Author: Cardinal, Ihejirika (Ph.D.) Abstract: ... This paper objects to van Fraassen’s denigration of the ontological status of unobservable entities. It queries the sort of experiential limits placed on science by van Fraassen and does not think his epistemological dimension of discourse fits- or ties-in properly with the question of existence of unobservable entities. Using the tools of content and critical analysis, the paper fronts the pragmatic and ontological dimensions as much better thresholds for argumentation than van Fraassen’s core epistemic posturing against the entity realist’s belief in the existence of unobservable entities. Constructive empiricism being an anti-realist position directs a damaging attack against scientific realism. The question of limits of experience is thus crucial in Bas C. van Fraassen’s constructive empiricism and this has an intricate link with the discourse on the ontological status of metaphysical entities hence, this deconstruction assignment seeks to examine the dismantling of the said ontological status of unobservable entities according to the radical dissent of constructive empiricism. The study concludes with the suggestion that both the pragmatic and ontological statuses of unobservable entities should be maintained for a better understanding of scientific theories. Keywords: Constructive Empiricism; Experience; Ontological Status; and Scientific Realism. Show More |
