Title: Islamic Law Regarding the Death Penalty Author: Manexti Jorga Abstract: ... The aim of this paper is to look into the current trend of the death penalty in Islamic countries and comprehend the relationship with the various human rights principles. This is deemed fundamental if the future of death penalty in the Islamic country is to be correctly speculated. Special attention will be given to three Islamic countries namely: Tunisia, Turkey and Jordan with the aim of understanding the trend being followed by Islamic countries on the controversial topic. It is understood that with the current trend of balkanization either for economic or political reasons, some Islamic countries will be required to adhere to certain international laws that are trying to shape the form of punishment of heinous crimes to exclude death penalty. It argues that identity definition in general refers to an existential stance, an internal organization of needs, skills, sense of self and socio-political stance and that since a definition is required to develop a perspective, it defines self-identity as a feeling of subjective integrity, consistency and durability in terms of who we were in the past and whether we are still the same individuals regarding our personality; and our answer to the question ‘’who am I’’, indicating that we are a unique person different from anybody else. Title: X-Ray of Community Health Programs (CHPs) in Sudan Author: Mohaliga Salim Abstract: ... This research x-rays community health programs (CHPs) in Sudan. The study included 48 students from second class, 43 from third class and 45 from fourth class. They selected by systemic random sampling and interviewed to collect required data using a questionnaire. The proportion of participation in community health services among public health students was 28.7%. Most of participation (97.3%) was voluntary while the rest (2.7%) was remunerative participation. Community services was the main reason of participation 25(64.1%) followed by training 13(33.3%) and only 1(2.6%) was for money. The percentage of participation among second class was 8.3%, third class 41.9% and fourth class 37.8% (X2 = 15.189, P value = 0.001). Participation in community health programs among males was 51.5% and among females was 21.4%. Title: Evaluation in Technical Vocational Education and Training in Nigeria Author: Ephraim Wordu (Ph.D) Abstract: ... Following the meeting of the International Experts on Learning, Work, Citizenship and Sustainability hosted by UNESCO in 2004, a new perspective on TVET emerged, which viewed it not as a preparation for work but as a concern for social change. This study examined evaluation in TVET based on this new perspective. The study is of the view that TVET evaluation is based on personal and qualitative realms of methodology. The criteria for determining what to evaluate include (a) describing the programme to encourage its appropriate replication (b) illuminating its working to inform future programmes of its experience and lessons, (c) measuring the worth of the programme through value judgements of participants physical results and participation rates, and (d) defining who has benefited at whose expense. Title: Using R2R Ingression to Bridge Data from Legacy Software to New Software Author: Duthy Hamar Abstract: ... Software engineering is a state of art providing enormous solutions to the clients. Software engineering methodologies keeps on changing from day to day. This changing nature of software gave place for development of new languages, technologies, new tools in the software applications and many frame works that gained speed in replacing older systems. Hence, the main objective in presenting the paper defines in “bridging” the older software to the latest version new technology software. This enables data to meet accurate requirements in data mining from the data bases. Methods/Statistical Analysis: In the storage of databases, the relational databases are used utmost for storing data in very large amount which should be with good and high integrated security to safe guard the data semantics. In order to support the objective, we have introduced an R2R Ingression approach – a methodology to bridge old systems to new technology software in RDB and RDF with various mappings and architectural patterns that duly define the bridging process for RDB and RDF. Findings: A clear and contrast elaboration have been extracted between the two distinguished example software’s as presented in our context. We stated the relations of old systems and new systems software’s with the example mappings using R2RI, so that legacy software’s can be easily transparent to the new technology software’s. This kind of bridging is so essential to enhance the usage of old legacy systems at the current latest technologies. A Semi automation tool is apprehended and transformed to a complete automation tool to give additional benefits to the user as well as the administrator. Applications/Improvements: This paper covers the development of a new methodology called R2RI which is an RDB-to-RDF mapping with integration approach that contain architecture and mapping which enables the RDF-based Read/Write access to enrich the various characteristics of RDB. Education tenets of Pythagoreanism are pivoted on historicism, spiritualism, empiricism, aesthetics and discipline. Education based on these tenets fits the description of holistic and interdisciplinary education, which can provide direction for African philosophy of education. Holistic education, believed to have been originated through the works of Ron Miller and its ideal elaborated further in the journal Holistic Education Review (now, Encounter: Education for Meaning and Social Justice), is a philosophy that considers all human potentials in totality rather than an aggregate of constituent parts (Holistic Education Network, 2003; Khan, 2008; and Miller, 2000). As explained by Amada (nd), Holistic Education Network (2003) and Melissa (nd), it regards every human being as important and exploits intellectual, emotional, social, physical, artistic, creative and spiritual potentials. Although the origin of holistic education is attributed to Miller, the concept has been with educators for centuries. For example, Maria Montessori (1870-1952), Johann Heinrich Peztalozzi (1746-1827) and John Dewey (1859-1852) advocate for holistic education (Miller, 2000).
